Keyboard
Piano (Performance Major)
All works must be performed from memory.
- All major and minor scales and arpeggios
- A movement or a complete work by Bach, Handel, Scarlatti, or a comparable composer from the Baroque period
- A movement or a complete work by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, or a comparable composer from the Classical period
- A complete work by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Chopin, Liszt, or a comparable composer from the Romantic period
- A short work by Debussy, Ravel, Copland, Barber, or a comparable composer from the Twentieth Century
Sight-reading skills will be tested.
Piano (Music Education Major)
One piece must be performed from memory
- A two- or three-part invention by J.S. Bach
- One movement of a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven
- A work by a Nineteenth- or Twentieth-Century composer
Sight-reading skills will be tested
Harpsichord
- Two contrasting works from the French clavecin school (L. Couperin, F. Couperin, J.P. Rameau)
- A work from the English virginal school (optional)
- A major work of J.S. Bach (partita, sonata, English suite, etc)
- A Scarlatti sonata
Organ (Performance Major)
- A Prelude and Fugue by J.S. Bach
- A piece from the Romantic period
- A twentieth-century work

Classical Percussion
You should be prepared to perform on at least two, and preferably three, of the following:
- Snare drum: two solo works (rudimental and/or classical), plus rudiments
- Keyboard percussion instruments: one solo work for either marimba or xylophone, played with either two
or four mallets, plus scales
- Timpani: one solo work
- Drumset: play time and a solo in a jazz style of your choice

Voice
A total of four selections:
- Three art songs, including at least one in English and at least one in a foreign language
- One aria from opera (if vocally appropriate), operetta, or oratorio
Be prepared to be tested in pitch matching.
Popular songs or show tunes are not considered appropriate audition repertoire. All music must be memorized. Please bring a list of repertoire to be performed and copies of your music for the accompanist. An accompanist will be provided.
